Noir I by FlexDreams
This Reminds me of the famous Spanish Baroque artist Caravaggio. Chiaroscuro which refers to “light dark” in paintings is executed quite well in this photograph. The quiet and romantic faces, powerful imagery and the overall composition are all well-connected to this period of art. With that, Caravaggio rendered the figures in his paintings to a drama all its own; where these subject feel left to a gentle despair. Here, I do get a sense of Michelangelo’s “Pieta”. I will say great use of light. Nice background. Many “into the woods” photography does not work well because the photographs are so focused on the nature rather than conveying the story of the person in it. I feel the use of nature being the background should be exactly that and not primary focus of the photograph, which this photographer has so wonderfully done here. Also wonderful makeup, hair and styling to those involved in this creative. - KM
